If people cannot afford to have children then they should not have any children. It is poor decisions that cause poverty. Unlike in Cambodia and other 2nd and 3rd world countries, poverty in America is, for the most part, self imposed: out of wedlock childbirth is the #1 cause of poverty in America, followed by chronic drug and alchohol abuse, teen advice pregnancy (see illegitimacy) divorce, and then there are those who are simply too lazy or stupid or just plain sorry to support themselves by honest labor. Also, the Welfare State only perpetuates chronic welfare dependecy and we now have 4th generation welfare recipients. We need public policies that encourage personal responsibility and initiative, not polices that encourage the opposite. Of course, you would have to have an I.Q. of at least 80 to understand that.
Do you give away a minimum of 10% of your gross pre-tax income to charities and humanitarian efforts every single year Mr. Thomas? I do. I also donate 10% of my time to help poor people in legal matters. Do you spend 10% of your time helping poor people?
